The station is staffed with Paramedics and EMT's,
24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Braidwood Volunteer Fire Dept. proudly protects 6000 people living in an area
of 14 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily
residential area. Our department is a private department whose members are on
a paid on call status. We have an ISO rating of 6/9. We have around 42
volunteers on our department right now. We currently have 15 active pieces of
equipment. All fire apparatus is painted red with a "Braidwood"
white stripe. The Braidwood FD registered logo is also visible on each side
of the apparatus. The logo consists of an Italian coal miner holding a
pickaxe in one hand and the symbol of atomic energy in the other as shown
below. The phrase "Energy
City...from Coal to
Atoms" is next to the coal miner.
