Park Security Reminders

Visitors are reminded that all park grounds close at 10:30pm 7 days a week with city curfew and truancy laws enforced by local police.  Vehicles are not to be left parked on park grounds after the park is closed.  Unless arrangements are made in advance, vehicles left on park property will be towed at the owner’s expense.  Visitors are encouraged to contact the park office or local police if any damage or vandalism to park property is observed.  Drivers are reminded that the speed limit in all parking lots is 10mph.  As warmer weather approaches, please be vigilant of children and other pedestrians when driving through the park.  Only authorized vehicles are permitted on the walk path and in all areas which are posted as restricted to motor vehicles.  ATV’s and dirt bikes are not allowed on park grounds at any time unless authorized.  The park district incorporates the City of Braidwood curb and leash laws for all dogs.  Dog walkers are reminded to have their dogs on leashes and to pick up any waste left behind while walking through the park.

Anyone who is seeking to perform community service hours with the Braidwood Park District must contact the park office to make arrangements.  Community service workers perform a number of general clean up tasks such as trash pick-up, sweeping, raking and others.  Persons who require a letter of confirmation for court ordered service must advise the park officials when setting up time to perform the services.  Community service workers are required to arrive at the time specified.  Non-excused absences will result in termination of community service privileges with the Braidwood Park District as well as notification of court officials.

With the spring season comes warmer weather.  We hope that everyone enjoys the time they spend at the park and takes advantage of what the outdoors has to offer.  We would like to thank everyone who came out and supported the children’s Easter egg hunt on April 4th.  A total of 230 treat bags were given out to the children in attendance.  Park volunteers are already planning on an even bigger and fun filled event for next years Easter egg hunt.  The commissioners would like to remind residents and park users to help keep the park clean.  Please put your trash in the cans which are placed around the park.  Have a safe and fun filled spring.

Sincerely,

Braidwood Park District
